 Select European museums are exceptionally open for a night, free
of charge, as part of European Museum Night organized every year on a
Saturday nearest to 18th May (this year on 16th May 2015). About 1200 Museaums which have signed
the Council of Europe’s cultural convention participate in this
unique initiative.
Most museums offer special activities for this original night, aimed at all audiences: storytelling tour, torch-lit tour, concert, workshops for children, screenings, fireworks... Children and adults, lovers of music, live performance, literature and art in a more general sense all gather here for a unique night. |

 Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held worldwide including India every year encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 PM on the last Saturday in the month of March, as a symbol for their commitment to the planet. It was started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide. |

Launched in May 2006, the service allows you to examine Google’s database and identify the search queries. Google Auto-complete When any user starts typing a keyword in the search section, some additional keywords or phrases start to appear similar to the first keyword being typed. The tool Google Auto-complete helps in offering these optional keywords based on past searches, personalized web history, Google Plus settings, etc. Yahoo Buzz allows you to know the top keyword queries made by Yahoo users. This even includes the buzz score and how well the query has moved in the rankings. Yahoo assorts the hottest searches (Yahoo Buzz stories) trending throughout the day. Each story has a ranking, which is based on the votes and comments received on the story, and the related time period for which the story was shared via emails. Bing / AOL Search Trends Like GoogleTrends and Yahoo Buzz, Bing Trends and AOL Search Trends also offer insights on top search trends. On AOL, you find 50 top popular searches both on hourly and daily basis. Uber Suggests Ubersuggest is a free keyword suggestion tool which helps you know about the keywords that are being searched by the users. The tool extracts suggestions on keywords from Google Suggest and other Suggest services. Twitter helps you know what’s trending on this platform. The tool offers advanced search with the use of operators. It’s easy on Twitter to know which key phrase or trend is keeping people excited. |

Nightlife is generally the time well spent in nights by those who either do not sleep at all or sleep for a short time during any time during 24 hours. The time well spent generally covers those activities which are somewhat forbidden during the day such as drinking, dining, partying, roaming, fast driving, dating, betting etc. This requires hotels, bars, pubs and entertainment joints, malls to remain open 24 hours and no restriction to be imposed by society or law on any person for their actions during odd hours. The urbanization has forced people to work in shifts and also caused wide spread insomnia. Some people are obsessed with success so much that they want to be awake all the time for either enjoying the success or accumulating more of it. They need all the options to be available all the time. Demand for nightlife is growing everywhere in world, more in metropolitan cities. There is nothing wrong but the bigger challenge with the administrators is how to maintain the law and order in the night with less number of vigilant citizens around, and ensure safety of the women and men, in that order. |

A workshop was recently organized by Chief Electoral Officer for Delhi State for senior media persons and cable operators on 19th January 2015 towards sensitizing the media on the instructions relating to media coverage during the election period, including paid news issues, certification of political advertisements in electronic media. According to the CEO office, during Delhi Assembly elections in 2013, 54 cases were decided as "confirmed paid news" cases by the district/ state Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) in print media.The candidates across the different parties were also found to be involved in these cases and accordingly expenditure on publishing paid news was included in the expenditure accounts of the candidates. Not only the loss of manuscripts and interpretation/ translation knowledge of sanskrit has caused losing the valuable scientific findings recorded in the Ancient India 2000 years ago, but apathy shown by the rulers not to acknowledge the ancient work on any count literary, historical or dissertation. The work done by these scholars without much of the support system needs due appreciation. Shri Gopala and Shri Hemachandra in the 11th Century discovered a delightful connection between the number of syllables in Sanskrit poetry and mathematics. The answer, it turns out, is what we now call the Fibonacci series (also appears in the number of petals in certain flowers in nature), which was eventually rediscovered by Mr. Leonardo of Pisa, better known as Fibonacci, about 50-80 years later. The ancient Indian poet Shri Pingala, roughly in 200 BC discovered the binomial structure hidden in Sanskrit poetry. This was about 1,800 years prior to the French mathematician Mr. Pascal’s Traité du triangle arithmétique, which we today learn as Pascal’s triangle. Techniques were in usage in ancient times that resemble modern error-correcting codes, synchronization, and formal language definition in Sanskrit poetry and prose. These are all modern inventions (or reinventions, in some cases) that impact almost every aspect of our lives, from computer languages to wireless communications. There existed a thriving civilization that produced extraordinary intellectual thought and ideas which continue to have fundamental connections with the way we live today. We appear to have lost knowledge of this ancient past through the vicissitudes and vagaries of time. And with it, a significant source of pride and the ability to influence modern Indian identity. We are well versed with Plato, Aristotle, Pythagoras, Copernicus, Newton, Leibniz, Pascal, Galois, Euler, etc. and their tremendous contributions to mankind in our school days. And yet, most of us had never read about Aryabhatta, Brahmagupta, Pingala, Kalidasa, Hemachandra, Madhava, the Nyaya or Mimimsa Sutras, or the Therigatha. |

"E Pluribus Unum" which is Latin for, "Out of many, one" was considered the de facto motto of the United States, until Congress adopted "In God We Trust" as the official motto in 1956. The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), a church-state separatist group, along with 19 other plaintiffs are fighting for the removal of the phrase on federal currency against the U.S. Treasury.It is important to note the first amendment of the US Constitution states the government is not allowed to make a law establishing a religion. The government is also not allowed to prohibit the free exercise of religion. With the argument about separation of church and state, would not the first amendment be in violation of this separation? Technically the government is getting involved with the topic of religion! Also, the "God" in the phrase is not specifying the god of just one religion.About 80% of America shares a monotheistic belief in a God. Yes, capital G for all three religions. Not just the big, bad, "bigoted" Christians. Taking out the phrase from Currency says that roughly 251,131,232 American people can no longer trust in God because it offends the 20% of America that did not already. |

Airtel as per the latest revision in the terms and condition (see the link) is going to be charging for making calls over the internet whether the VoIP
service is free or paid. It means the service providers intend to be levying a fee for using VoIP on its 2G or 3G network as
the data consumption for such services won/’/t be counted as part of any
existing internet pack. Airtel has also released a statement which confirms the new revisions and it notes that a specific data pack for VoIP will be offered soon for those who don’ want to be charged separately. Traditional messaging has been on a major decline due to messenger apps and with many services offering free voice calls, this could lead to major losses as operators would be nothing more than data providers. So be ready to pay more. |

Bharti Airtel Ltd. have reversed their controversial decision on 29th December 2014 to start charging
customers for phone calls made using free messaging services such as
Skype and Viber apps on cellphones and tablets. The move of Airtel triggered protests and activists say by doing so the service provider wants to protect
its long-distance voice-call services and the vanishing SMS segment.
Granted, services such as Skype have made long-distance calls cheaper
and easier, while chat services such as WhatsApp have made the practice
of SMS-ing virtually nonexistent, but that doesn’t mean you torpedo them
at the consumer’s expense. Bharti’s move was protested as a “dangerous start” because it would mean that operators would start controlling and acting as “gatekeepers and toll collectors” for content that cellphone users want to consumer and thus compromising the net neutrality. Net neutrality means web service providers should treat all traffic on their networks equally; they must not block or slow down access to any website or content to benefit their own services. Not any more. There was a time about 30 Years back when only a few channels were available free of cost. All were able to find some time out of their busy schedule not to miss out some of the good programs. Those who have seen Buniyad, Ramayan, Mahabharat, Tamas etc. may recall the nostalgic feeling when what was shown in the program remained as discussion point in all get together. The scene has now completely changed. First you have to pay for some 100 odd channels as a basic package whether you like or not. Then, each program runs very slow and meanwhile every attempt is loudly made to force you buy some thing and forget about the program. A two hour movie takes four hours or more to complete depending on your eagerness to watch. Even HD Channels for which you pay very high price are not spared from advertizing. The so called serials are the killers of evening time of every household without providing any short of entertainment. They are largely good to prompt females either not to work at home but make big schemes for eliminating the most hated family member/ relative around, or how to spend more so that men in the house have to get more money by any means. On top of this, the directors of these programs never want to loose their viewership and for that they will experiment in all possible ways not to end the story, how impractical, unbelievable or untrue these could be. The news channels have now also stared following path set by these programs. These channels have now started teaching news to the viewers, assuming them a first grade students. "The Country wants to Know" is heard very often but no body is sure what viewers want and in what way. The viewers are now spending useful time and more money to get some entertainment. The big players of TV and Satellite Broadcasting industry appears to be asking to the viewers: We have already robbed your money, time and peace of mind, why you are not feeling entertained? |
